NoAt first we stuck with the idea where we made a sling shot out of two Popsicle sticks and a rubber. This design was the only design we tested ten times. The results we got were 5.5' ,11.5' ,9.8', 7.6', 10.3', 6.9', 10.7'. In our opinion it was to small of a result for to much work so we then decided to change the idea at the last minute. We then decided to put the straw in a balloon and have the straw act as a cradle for the cotton ball. We were then called up and threw it for the first time.We got a fantastic distance of 375.25 inches.

Unit conversion
This presentation is one a will always remember. This power point had all the information needed for unit conversion such as how to use conversion factors. We had to really think of a way to make this fun and that was where we had a hard time. At first we decided to pass out candy. Although it did grab a lot of attention it wasn't enough to make it fun. We then added Gifs and funny videos and everybody had a great time. We weren't sure if they were really learning, but i can guarantee they were having fun.

color scheme
Color scheme is the arrangement of certain colors. This is used by many people such as interior designers. Monochromatic colors are are colors that have smooth transition with each other. Monochromatic colors are used as wall paint for a relaxing and smooth transition for the eyes. Analogous colors are the color that are adjacent to each other on the color wheel. An example of this would be the tree trunks and its leaves. Complementary colors are made up of two colors that are completely opposite to each other. This is usually used on sports cars to emphasize a certain part. The triadic color scheme uses three color which are equally away from each other in a triangular shape. This is used to show vibrant colors and emotions. An example of this would be burger kings logo. A split complementary color scheme is the same as a complementary color scheme but has a lot less tension. Examples of this would be bed sets.
Primary colors: blue, red, and yellow
Secondary colors: Green, violet, and orange.
Tertiary colors: blue violet, blue green, red orange, red violet, yellow green, and yellow orange.

Concept Post
This product I came with is called the chlorinator 1234. The Chlorinator 1234 is a programmable robot which lurks around in the bottom of your pool. It is powered by a vacuum hose and pump which lets it suck the foreign objects out of the pool. Now there are many products similar to this, but what makes this one different is that it has a built in chlorine feeder. This mean you basically dump a bag chlorine in it and with its built in mechanical timer, it will put the right amount of chlorine in the pool at the right time.
EDIT: This idea has been cancelled.
Interviewing a Designer
Joshua Jenkins, a designer who is working at a small start up company, is the man we interviewed. According to Mr. Jenkins a job as a designer can be fun, but very hard to get. If you live close to main designing cities such as San Francisco, you will get a higher chance of both getting a job and obtaining a higher income. In my opinion one cannot simply get a job as a designer without being passionate and focused onto their goals. It may be tough and stressful, but the rewards are endless.

The link above will take you to the link of my presentation of the product called time charge. This product will tell you the amount of time left until your phone is completely charged. There will also be a integrated software form of this which you can enable or disable in the settings. The software version will show how much time is left to charge the phone on the phone itself.

Line Work
To the people who think lines don't have emotion, you're wrong. Everything is made up of lines and if you have ever had feeling for an object, well that means you also had feelings for the lines that make it up. I consider the lines as the basic unit of designing. Everything starts with a line and ends with one, whether its curved, straight, or even small fragments. My line work was good, but the drawing were not professional. Although the drawings were not very good, they were able to transfer the emotions and ideas to the viewer.

New Problem and Solution

3 Problems
Problems, situations no one would like to go through and if they do they would want to find a solution. Out of all the problems in the world i decided to pick 3. Number 1: the maintaining of a pool. There are many people who own pools, Jacuzzis, etc. But many find it time consuming to maintain. The fact that you must add chlorine is such a waste of time and the fact that you must clean it too just adds on the the problem. The second problem many people face is theft in parking lots. I know for a fact that almost everyone has had something stolen and most cases may occur in parking lots. Many of us leave valuable items in the car when were are going somewhere. This makes it easier for the burglars to steal because in most free parking lots there is no one to watch or protect your belongings. Lastly, a big problem is electricity. There are so many people who use electricity and almost all of them are actually wasting more than 25% of it. An example of wasting electricity would be leaving a light, computer, TV, fan, and many others, on. Since these devices are on, the are literally taking money out and throwing it away until you actually turn it off. This needs a solution.

Self as a Designer
I picked this image of our bridge as a object that defines me because it is like this first steps into designing. In my world i imagine my self walking across this bridge that i designed into the goals i would like the accomplish. Some goal are closer than others.
the goals i would like to accomplish are:
- Successfully be able to use auto desk inventor.
- Improve a lot on drawing and sketching skills.
- Mastering the thinking process of designing.
- To be prepared with a engineering mind.

Iwatch Jacket Design
The Iwatch is a new product designed and produced by apple. Although your iphone is capable of doing whatever the iwatch can, the watch is supposed be more efficient through out the day. One issue as designers we had was that the Iwatch was not very independent. This device needed to be connected to your cellular device to be able to do some things, which was a major drawback. This solution for this problem is the Iwatch Jacket. The Iwatch jacket is a attachment to the iwatch which connects to the back of the iwatch. It acts as a case with a built in screen protector, gives 4G LTE and WiFi capability, and doubles the battery life. Base price for this product (if produced) will be $49.
Some factors that must be noted when changing or enhancing a design is not you will no be perfect. A design is a design for a reason and feedback for flaws and improvement are expected. One good way to really improve your design is to introduce it and present to others and ask for improvement. Documenting and brainstorming are also some more important factors. By documenting you can refer to work and keep a record of your step by step improvement. Brainstorming is probably the most used technique by designer. To brainstorm you sit there, think, and take notes about different ideas or improvement factors. Sketching, like the image above, is very helpful. By producing sketches you can represents you ideas as images and make it a lot easier for yourself and other to understand and absorb your idea. My group consisted of two people, Diana Zepeda, and of course me. One useful and effective technique to use for presentations is to compare. By comparing your products to every day object it makes it a lot easier for people to develop a stronger understanding of your product or design.

Bridge Design
Why do you think brainstorming was helpful when solving a problem?
At the start of our project all we did was think. Thinking is the action of processing ideas through one's head. Since we brainstormed we were able to come with the best possible result. Imagine a place with no brainstorming. People would make products that would have a countless number of problems.
How did testing improve your design?
By testing our product we were able to identify the problems. Since we tested our production we found out that our bridge had less support on one side, but more on the other. This resulted in the bridge collapsing once we place the people in. We then out more support on the weaker end and the bridge turned out to be successful.
With respect to designing the solution to the problem, what are some important characteristics of a successful team?
I am going to go straight to the point and say the most important characteristic of a successful team is communication. The members most communicate in order to improve their design or product. If one person is doing something and others are just watching, you may get the product done, but there will be flaws. By communicated with each other teams can minimize the flaws so that when the present their production it is almost perfect. Another characteristic of a successful team is that each and every person should have a good understanding of all factors. If you split your team into two groups one for hardware and the other for software, the people in software should understand hardware and vice versa. This will allow for better suggestions from each group member because they have a good understand of everything.
