- Today 3D printers are expensive pieces of equipment, but are very cool. At the moment they are quite rare and it is best to wait for them to be cheaper, but I am going to have to say that they are very precise. There were some minor errors, but you can really get each and every detail down.
- Overall drawings are necessary in order to communicate design. If someone were to just put a description of a product, the fabricator may interpret it in many different ways. Since in image like the one above clears the image for the fabricator, they can easily create a accurate and precise part.
- Creating a Digital Design of the 3D model really helps In many helps. Just like stated earlier it makes it easy for the fabricator to create the product since to are able to refer to a model which is potentially right. These designs can also help out to spot flaws or errors in the design that must be changed. When we sent the CAD file to a 3D printing service, we are not sure whether or not they have saved our design sent to them. This can bring up the issue of privacy and limit the things you may be able to print. In conclusion 3D printing is good, but far from being practical.
